わたらせ渓谷鉄道＆足尾銅山＆忍城の旅　～Watarase Valley Railway , Ashio Copper Mine, Oshi Castle

いざ！出発！！　～ Let’s Go!

前日～ The Day Before

前日は浅草寺参拝　～ I visited Sensoji Temple the day before starting.

特急「りょうもう」　～ The Tobu Express Train Ryomo

浅草発、東武鉄道「特急りょうもう」でいざわたらせ渓谷鉄道に乗りに行きます。～ I went for a ride on the Watarase Railway after riding on the Tobu Express train ” Ryomo”.

わたらせ渓谷鉄道　～ Watarase Valley Railway

相老駅で下車をし、わたらせ渓谷鉄道に乗車します。～　Get off at Aioi Station and board the Watarase Valley Railway.

神戸駅にて途中下車します。～　Get off at Godo Station

足尾銅山に向かうため、通洞駅で下車します。鉄印帳もゲットします。～Get off at Tsudo　Station to head to Ashio Copper Mine. I get the Railway Stamp, too.

足尾銅山に到着です。～ Arrive at Ashio Copper Mine

トロッコの中です。～　It’s in the trolley.

銅山坑内です。　～It’s in the Ashio Copper Mine.

通洞駅に戻る途中に知る人ぞ知るコロッケ屋さん「ますや肉店」があります。～　There is a croquette shop “masuya meat shop” known only to those in the know on the way back to Tsudo Station.

揚げたてで美味しそうやなぁ～It looks delicious freshly fried.

最後の目的地は、難攻不落の忍城(おしじょう)です。～　The final destination is “The impregnable caslte”, Oshi castle.

秩父鉄道羽生駅から乗車し、行田駅に向かいます。～　Take the Chichibu Railway from Hanyu Station and head to Gyoda Station.

忍城(おしじょう)です。～This is Oshi Castle.

忍城は成田氏の居城として知られており、石田三成による水攻めは日本三大水攻めの一つに数えられます。映画にもなった小説「のぼうの城」の舞台になりました。～　Oshi castle is　known as the Narita’s residence. The Water torture by Mitsunari Ishida is counted as one of “Japanese 3 water torture.”　“Nobo Casle”　became the stage of a novel that was also made into a movie.
